Toronto is getting a Panda
Or at least we’re lobbying for the right to lobby for one. Sheesh, talk about politics. Apparently having a Panda in the Toronto Zoo is going to bring in something like 250 Million CDN. Or at least that’s the projected benefit. First the zoo and Mr. Giorgio Mammoliti is going to be fronting some initial cash to try and send a group to China to ask if we can have a Panda, pretty please with a cherry on top. I didn’t know this, but apparently Panda’s are pretty big in China.
At least Mr. Mammoliti (who was running for mayor of Toronto at one point and is also incharge of Toronto’s erection) is putting up his share of the necessary funds from his own pocket as opposed to the pockets to Torontonians.
As a side note - Panda’s have to be one of the most inefficient animals around.
